Vocalist Jacki DePiro is THE "new" Jazz Star

On Saturday night in Hollywood CA., I witnessed an amazing evening of music by jazz vocalist, Jacki DePiro. The hour set was a performance of songs from DePiro's new release "Where I Hang My Hat Is Home", out in 2006 on JaRic Records, Los Angeles.
Jacki handled each tune with the poise and control of every great like Nancy Wilson, Ella and newer artists like Diana Krall but what this Diva has that most Jazz singers lack is a belt voice that rivals Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. And like Nancy Wilson, she's physically beautiful! I was thrilled too at how great her band was, led by brother and pianist Rick DePiro who wrote the title cut for this new CD as well as two other cuts, arranged and also produced the CD. The bassist and drummer were awesome but I guess theyd have to be to keep up with "chops" like DePiro has on piano. Jacki DePiro should be a huge star very soon and I can't believe she's not there already! If you dont have this CD, go buy it because it's going to be one of your all-time favorite Jazz CDs. It's definitely one of mine. Samuel Griffin / Los Angeles >>> JaRic Records is an LA-Nashville based label headquartered in Los Angeles.
